Guaranteed quality, between tradition and innovation

A profile of hills and wheat fields, stretches of olive groves, geometrical rows of vineyards. This is the Tuscan countryside. A veritable postcard, yes, but insufficient to describe that which is transferred to our tables from those very fields. One must carefully observe how, every day, the approximately 90 thousand Tuscan agricultural ventures search for continuous improvements, leveraging on concepts such as quality and territorial identity: wine, our leading product, boasts the absolute record in quality certifications (41 DOC labels); another 19 products, from oil to honey, from pecorino cheese to ham, are certified by the European Union (and a further 23 soon will be), and in the census of traditional products, a good 451 are Tuscan products.
The halo of genuineness that surrounds all that which bears the scent of Tuscany is thus not only based on legend, but on the daily and extremely precise work of a sector capable of focusing on a constant and dynamic mix of tradition and innovation. And these are the numbers tied to Tuscan agriculture:

Cultivation -  Agricultural companies operating in Tuscany cultivate an agricultural surface area of over 750 thousand hectares. Cereals occupy almost 200 thousand hectares, followed by olive trees (over 92 thousand hectares) and vineyards (62 thousand). Biological farming exceeds 100 thousand hectares and there are approximately 3 thousand biological operators registered in the regional register.

Wine - Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti and Carmignano are just some of the protagonists of a millenary tradition that grows and renews itself in time, thanks to the professionalism and attention to quality of the producers of this region where, every year, an average 260 millions of liters of medium-high level wine are produced, with peaks of absolute value. On the entire Tuscan territory, there are more than 64,000 hectares destined to vine growing, involving more than 55,000 estates, of which 10,800 produce wines with denomination of origin.

Other products - Traditional Tuscany is rich in artisan-production laboratories, agricultural businesses and coffee roasting businesses that have made the Region one of the major European centres for high-quality production, also based on the rediscovery of old-fashioned recipes and on the use of excellent-quality raw materials.
Confectionery products, bakery products, pasta production and coffee roasting constitute a wealth of flavour and creativity.
